Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam), a fresh entrant in Emmerdale, surprised his kids Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) and Jai (Chris Bisson) by showing up in the hamlet.
Jai has long known that Amit is his father. It wasn’t long until Rishi was forced to reveal that Jai’s biological father was Rishi’s brother Amit when he discovered some adoption documents and discovered that Rishi (Bhasker Patel), the man who had raised him, wasn’t his dad after all.
It didn’t take long for Amit to disclose the details surrounding Jai’s conception, stating that he had a brief connection with Jai’s mother Georgia (Lin Blakley) before marrying his wife. Because of the lack of chemistry in their early marriage, he turned to Georgia. His marriage had been one of convenience.
Additionally, the actor Anil Goutam informed us that his character is difficult and fascinating due to the mysteries that would eventually surface in this relationship, not the least of which being his role in Rishi’s death.
In my opinion, it gives you a perspective on Amit that you wouldn’t get if you just met him. As we’ve already stated, there is a darker side, and it’s always enjoyable for an actor to explore a darkness. But if it were just written that way, I doubt it would be very entertaining since it would just be a caricature. It’s not written that way; rather, a multifaceted individual is depicted.
In forthcoming episodes, Caleb (William Ash), Nicky (Lewis Cope), Suni, and Amit will all be at the same meal, and this secret will serve as the background to a stressful situation. While Nicky and Suni, who are in a relationship, hope that nothing would become too awkward, Caleb and Amit assess one other.
Anil informed us that Amit has no issues with his son’s sexual orientation. He said, “He’s okay with it.” He could appear to be uncomfortable with it, but he actually is, according to the person who is comfortable with it.
However, it doesn’t take long for Amit to start asking unpleasant questions. He wants to know particularly what happened between Nicky and Gabby (Rosie Bentham).
This is a difficult subject for Caleb and Nicky to discuss because their whole relationship was motivated by Caleb’s desire to get revenge on Kim Tate (Claire King), and he had no love feelings at all for her. In the end, he was unable to maintain the façade and revealed his sexual orientation to her on the day of their wedding.
It’s expected that Caleb and Nicky would soon find a reason to leave and return home, leaving Suni upset with his father.
