Nina Wadia, a former EastEnders cast member, has pondered on her choice to quit the program ten years later.
The actress gained a devoted following throughout her five years as the stoic matriarch Zainab Masood.
2013 saw the release of Zainab’s last scenes following Nina’s choice to depart the program. Even though the serial actress admitted she was “devastated” to leave the Square, she felt like a piece of her ‘needed’ to leave.
According to her interview with OK! Magazine, “I didn’t suit staying in the same role for so long and I was finding myself climbing the walls with only playing Zainab.”
“They were nice to me on the program in not killing her off, and I’m sure at some time I will return,” she said.
Certainly, there is hope!
In an exclusive interview with, Nina previously mentioned a potential comeback to EastEnders.
She told us, “What interests me is that people constantly ask me, “When are you going back in?” even though I left over ten years ago.”
Sincerely, it was one of my favorite gigs. I got to know several amazing actors, many of whom I am still close with. And I do miss it. I’d never say never, though.
“I’m here for everyone at any time.” The actor who portrayed Masood, Nitin Ganatra, is charming, so of course we would both return. When we were on it, we had a blast.
After Zainab left, I returned to comedy since she was going through some difficult times. I’ve been away long enough that if I returned, I would definitely bring the humor with me, and that’s what I’d want to do.
EastEnders, make it so!
