Following the introduction of Cassie (Claire Sweeney), the granddaughter of Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has hinted at a major surprise for the character.
A few weeks earlier, Cassie found herself living on the streets and was reunited with her mother Evelyn, who had taken her away to assist her in quitting narcotics.
When they got back to the cobbles, turmoil ensued when Cassie told Tyrone (Alan Halsall) who she really was, leaving Evelyn speechless.
Tyrone has had to deal with obstacles from his mother ever since he made the decision to let Cassie into his life, and he was heartbroken when she overdosed recently.
Even though Evelyn had forewarned him about what to anticipate from dating Cassie, it appears that the enduring fixture of the soap opera herself may be ready to bring him further troubles, as actor Alan explained.
He said to Inside Soap, “Evelyn is about to do something which causes them all major issues, even though Evelyn keeps claiming Cassie’s going to bring troubles to the door.”
“And Tyrone then attempts to put the family back together.”
Even though Cassie and Evelyn’s relationship is strained, Tyrone is committed to keeping them both in his life, as Alan said.
He is attempting to maintain control over Evelyn and Cassie and force them to act morally upright. I predict that he’ll find it difficult.
Tyrone will likely have concerns along the road, which will make this a difficult undertaking, Alan said.
He tries to satisfy everyone, but I don’t think he can.
He has occasionally considered washing his hands of it all, but he is unable to do so because this is what he has yearned for.
Will he be able to build the family he’s always desired, or will he find things to be too challenging to handle?
