Spoilers for EastEnders: Lexi and Jay reconcile as they get ready to bury Lola’s ashes

In recent EastEnders scenes, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) found himself rejected by his family after it came to light that, while grieving over his wife Lola, he had slept with escort Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix).

He was discovered by Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), who was eager to assist him in getting his life back on track, after spending a second night sleeping in the car lot office.

Gina brought him back to Ben and Callum’s (Max Bowden and Tony Clay) apartment after providing him with food and a place to shower in an effort to make apologies.

Mission get-Jay-back-on-side got off to a rocky start as the brothers started to quarrel right away, with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) also making his views quite obvious. This was after they had successfully deceived Ben into letting them in.

However, Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) spoke with some sense, and Jay (Isabella Brown) was soon permitted to sit down with Lexi (Emma Barton) and work things out.

He explained to a perplexed Lexi that loss caused people to act foolishly, including fighting with one another, and that he had not only lost his wife but also his best friend in Lola.

Lexi nodded in agreement, and Jay then explained his connection with Nadine. Lexi worried that Jay was attempting to forget about Lola, but Jay reassured her that this was not the case.

After the two had patched up their friendship, Lexi said that she wanted to scatter Lola’s ashes in the Square to commemorate the day physicians told her that she had cancer.

Lola was cherished in Albert Square, therefore that is where she should be buried, according to Lexi.

The family agreed that this was a great idea, and they would go ahead and disperse Lola’s ashes the next day as long as Lexi was certain.

Will this continue now that Jay is back in the group, or is he about to spiral out of control once more?
