Even though Danny Dyer’s character Mick Carter is missing at sea, his ghost will be very much present in EastEnders when the scary season begins next week.

As fans are aware, the adored landlord of Queen Vic disappeared at sea over the holiday season last year, eerily emulating Harold Bishop from Neighbours.

When a pregnant Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) drove him and his cherished soulmate Linda (Kellie Bright) into the ocean, he had the honorable purpose of entering the dangerous waters to save her.

Mick, acting on Linda’s orders, rescued the cunning Janine and their unborn child first, then went back out to sea to find his true love—not realizing that she had made it to land safely.

He never came back.

Linda struggled to move on since it was believed that Mick had passed away. However, after some contemplation, she chose to retain onto the Queen Vic and sell her ex-husband’s portion to her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), who had moved in with her new partner George Knight (Colin Salmon) and his two kids.

Although the new family dynamic has helped Linda cope in the months following her experience, she is once again thinking about her soulmate as Halloween approaches.

Fans will be aware that Mick and Linda enjoyed hosting themed parties, and Halloween was one of their favorite occasions of the year. The power couple would frequently dress up and draw large crowds of people.

You would think Linda would let everything go softly because this is her first frightening season without Mick, but in true Linda manner, the landlady puts up a brave face and insists on going big.

A real legend.

Elaine, on the other hand, makes the wise decision to assist her in starting the celebration, and it shows—the fancy outfit is still excellent.

Mick’s influence endures.

But when Linda walks into the pub’s kitchen, she’s about to get a terrifying surprise. But what exactly does she see?

BBC One and BBC iPlayer will air it at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 30.
