The horrifying scene in which Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) rejected Tom King’s (James Chase) marriage proposal has been shown on Emmerdale.
Viewers saw what transpired when Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) faced her family at the Woolpack following the discovery of rapist Craig Reed’s (Ben Addis) body.

In a subsequent flashback, Belle stunned Tom by telling him that, because they had recently moved in together, she wasn’t ready to take this step.
However, he took it very personally and became furious with her, saying he couldn’t possibly love her.
She attempted to soothe him, but he shoved her violently, sending her flying and hitting her head on the table.

Although it was obvious that she was cautious, Belle told her family that he had handled the situation effectively and covered up the fact that he had attacked him.
Belle keeps the details of what happened a secret since the rest of her family views her and her partner as deeply in love.
But how long before it occurs once more, and how much threat is this man posing to Belle?
