Liam Fox, a former Emmerdale actor, changed careers and went from acting to presenting.
The actor, who portrayed Dan Spencer in the television series, will work with Happy Radio UK’s staff as a host of the Saturday Sports Roundup, which airs from 2 to 6 p.m.
“After 12 years and 1,000 episodes of playing Emmerdale’s Dan Spencer, I’m so thankful to the Happy Radio team for giving me this opportunity for a fresh experience,” Manchester native Liam said. I’ve always wanted to be a presenter and an actress, so this dynamic, rapidly expanding station is the ideal place for me to fulfill my ambition of becoming a presenter.
“Growing up as an enthusiastic listener of Piccadilly and KEY 103 radio, I have always believed that local radio was tremendously essential,” he continued in an interview with RadioToday.
“Liam Fox is the perfect choice to deliver a roundup of sport and events across Manchester, Cheshire, and the North West along with playing fantastic music and sharing his knowledge and stories about his life growing up in Manchester,” co-presenters Darren Proctor and Max Eden said. “We’re incredibly excited to add Liam Fox to our presenter line up.”
Earlier this year, Liam departed from his position as Dan.
After killing a stalker named Lloyd, the well-liked figure was given an eight-year jail sentence.
Dan struck Lloyd during a fight, sending him flying backward and colliding with a rock in the head.
Since Llolyd’s injuries from the struggle were what finally caused her death, Dan was found guilty of manslaughter.
“Dan appears to be more consumed by remorse than anything else after losing it. Very depressing.
I cried a couple times while reading the script. Very beautiful, deeply felt content. I consider myself quite fortunate to have such a script for this tale.
