Spoilers for Coronation Street: A tragic event wrecks Billy’s happy news

The positive vibe is swiftly shattered. (Image: ITV)

Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) were married on Coronation Street, and Paul shocked Billy by setting up a religious wedding.

Billy was saddened to learn that the law forbids him from marrying the guy he loves in a church since he is an archdeacon and a devout Christian.

Paul walked down the aisle toward an emotional Billy, who was being accompanied by his mother Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) and sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell), at their restaurant wedding.

Paul, nevertheless, had Billy in for another surprise. They went to the church when he located a vicar who was ready to lead the service.

As Daniel Brocklebank said us, Billy was really emotional since this was the wedding of his dreams.

It was touching for me, but I don’t believe Billy would have dreamed that he would be performing this in front of God in his church, as he says.

Regarding the wedding at the cafe, he has been quite realistic and stated that he has come to the realization that God is not contained in a structure but rather is present everywhere. Naturally, though, being married there has a distinct vibe.

Billy’s official duties were suspended indefinitely by the Bishop, who had first chosen to ignore the wedding, but a picture from that day vanished and was circulated on social media.

In future episodes, Billy will be called in for a meeting with the Bishop, who will inform him that he is ready to lift the suspension and feels that it is time for Billy to return to work. Billy is obviously thrilled and eager to share the news with Paul, who has left for a speech therapy session.

Bernie offered to attend the appointment with Paul because of Billy’s meeting with the Bishop.

When Paul informs his speech therapist about the cough he’s been having at the session, Bernie notices the worried expression on her face and suggests that Paul speak with a specialist MND nurse.
Paul had to hear some terrible news from the nurse. He barely has six to twelve months to live since his MND is advancing quickly.

Billy is instantly alarmed to see that it’s Bernie when his phone calls, and he is naturally heartbroken by what she says.
