Viewers have been certain they know who would die in the next EastEnders scenes when a fire is scheduled to rage through Walford, but it appears they are mistaken.

Many fans speculated that Lorraine Stanley would perish in the fire that Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) is about to build when it was revealed that she will be quitting her role as Karen Taylor.

Karen is still alive after the fire, according to fresh spoilers, so we get to enjoy the character for a little while longer.

After the fire and the recent incident involving her son Albie’s abduction, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is naturally distraught. However, she urges Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to pop the question again so she may say yes when he gets home after picking up their son from preschool.

Now that they are engaged, the couple plans a party at the Vic, and Sharon makes every effort to get Karen to attend.

But Karen declines.

We are now left wondering how Karen will depart Albert Square because she remained on the site following the fire.

She was recently drawn into Keanu’s scheme to abduct Albie, and she played a crucial role in delivering him to her brother-in-law Malcom.

She has dropped another ransom letter in recent scenes, this one with a time and location to leave the money in return for Albie.

Karen took careful to reassure Sharon that her kid was still alive in the note, all the while pretending to be concerned, knowing how devastated Sharon had been over the death of her son.

Could this be a sign that Karen and Keanu will finally be found out for their crimes, given that she has warned Keanu several times that they may wind up in prison?

Is Karen going to do time in prison for her part in Keanu’s evil scheme?
