In future scenes on EastEnders, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), who spent time in Spain recuperating after his prostatectomy, is expected to make a comeback to Albert Square.
After receiving his PSA results, he leaves the hospital dejected and returns only to run into Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), who berates him for his vanishing act.
But as soon as Alfie tells her the truth, she starts to soften.
Later, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) begins to worry about whether or not his secret will be a secret for very long as Kat consoles Alfie at No. 55.
It will be recalled by viewers that Phil had an affair with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) just before they were married.
After a fight between Kat and Phil, Phil did what he always does and threw himself into the arms of another lady.
Although he has kept it a secret from Kat thus far, he is concerned about how long he will be able to do so given that Alfie, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), and Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) are all aware of it.
That is one too many loose lips for Phil now that Alfie is back on the scene, so he quickly gets to work acting.
As Phil ruminates, Kat and Alfie travel to Walford East with Tommy (Sonny Kendall), where Alfie confides in his son about being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Alfie tells Phil that he has no intention of disclosing his secret at this time, even if he is subsequently questioned by Phil about how he intends to maintain it.
Will Kat figure out that Phil is hiding anything because of his shady behavior?
How long can Phil and Alfie continue to hide this information from Kat?
