Christmas will bring a chilly crossover when Emmerdale and Dancing on Ice collide.
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, two ice dancing legends, have been cast in the serial opera and will appear in a special holiday episode.
The Olympic gold medalists have reunited on ice to assist a beloved character in proposing marriage while filming at a site near Leeds.
The pair that may soon be engaged is one of the high points of a few storylines that will adorn the Dales throughout the Christmas season; their identities are being kept under wraps for the time being.
Christopher Dean said, “It’s incredible to be here.” From watching Emmerdale on TV, to being in a scene, we have suddenly changed. the scene from the screen. I really adore it.
“I am quite excited to watch the episode that we will be in,” exclaims Jayne Torvill. Sitting at home and watching it will seem strange.
“We are happy to welcome Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as our very special visitors to Emmerdale,” Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw continued.
“Dean and Torvill vow to add the Christmas sparkle and enchantment to the show.”
As they recorded the sequences, the skating superstars posed for a happy photo with actors Dominic Brunt (playing Papa), Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle), James Chase (Tom King), Mark Charnock (playing Marlon), Roxy Shahidi (playing Leyla), and Joe-Warren Plant (playing Jacob).
Roxy is going to the ice when the talent show resumes in the new year, so it only seems right that the crossover works both ways.
She joked, “For a new kitchen,” in response to the question of why she was accepting the challenge.
However, she went on, saying, “I really do think it’s going to be fantastic.” I got to wear tights, sequins, and huge hair, so I was really pleased about doing it in the first place,” she continued.

I had this mental image of myself being a competitive ice skater. As soon as I signed my contract, I had a complete breakdown.
Her on-screen ex Matthew Wolfenden won the competition during his tenure, and TV son Joe-Warren Plant was climbing the rankings until an injury caused him to withdraw out. She follows a number of Emmerdale actors who have appeared on the show.
What a cozy little family affair!
With Gaynor Faye, who portrayed Megan, also winning, Roxy has a lot of pressure on her shoulders.
Torvill and Dean could perhaps be thinking the same thing as they prepare for their Emmerdale debut on TV.
