This article contains spoilers for this Thursday’s (November 23) episode of EastEnders, which you can watch on BBC iPlayer right now even though it hasn’t yet aired on television.
We are overjoyed that Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) has finally found the strength to leave her abusive husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry) and begin a new life with her soulmate Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).
Suki bravely confided in her son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) this week about her genuine feelings for Nish and Eve, and Vinny at last gave her permission to pursue the life she really desires.
Suki realized that this was her opportunity to leave when Nish said he would be out until late, so she hurriedly made plans to leave Albert Square behind.
She moved quickly to implement her plan, making arrangements to stay with a friend in Glasgow and sending Nish a detailed letter outlining all the details.
She asked Vinny if he would accompany her, knowing that she would be alone and worried for his safety if Nish ever found out that he had assisted her. Vinny refused, but he advised her to stand up for Eve and told her not to look back.
Suki decided that she had to give it one last shot even though she had come to terms with Eve moving on, so she set out to try and locate her.
Eve, meanwhile, was unsure of how to handle Tessa, her new love interest. She told Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) how much Suki had hurt her and how happy she was with Tessa as she expressed her feelings to her.
Later, Suki, who was looking for her girl, surprised Stacey with a visit.
Regretfully, Stacey was not fond of the notion of Suki and Eve riding off into the sunset together. She quickly cautioned Suki, pointing out that Tessa had given Eve the freedom to not have to conceal their relationship, something she felt Suki would never be able to accomplish.
Suki gave up the fight and left for the tube station after Stacey told her to let Eve go if she truly cared about her. She didn’t know that Eve was splitting up with Tessa in the Queen Vic.
Eve informed Tessa that she was still in contact with her ex and wished her luck in getting Suki back. Tessa handled the news well.
Vinny quickly intervened, having heard the conversation, and pushed Eve to pursue Suki. Eve didn’t give it much thought before running off to find her.
After Suki was unable to leave due to train issues, the two eventually found themselves face to face at the tube station, where they sat down for a much-needed and long-overdue conversation.
Eve thought back to their failed attempts at running together, but Suki vowed that this time would be different, that this time she was ready to be Suki—ready to be herself and shout about Eve from the rooftops.
Eve asked Suki if they could stay a few more hours so that she could support Stacey during her court case, realizing that the couple was ready to start a new life together and that there was no plan.
Suki nodded, then thought of the letter she’d written to Nish. Eve pleaded with her to locate it and get rid of it before he saw and jeopardized their entire future.
They were unaware that Nish had already returned home.
What will happen to Suki and Ev if he sees the letter?
