Charley Webb, star of Emmerdale, has made her first public appearance since declaring her divorce from Matthew Wolfenden.

A week after telling her social media followers that she and Matthew had split up, the Debbie Dingle actress was spotted out and about without her wedding band.

“Matthew and I have decided to separate with love and respect,” the woman stated on her Instagram stories. “We are still friends, and loving our kids comes first.” We would appreciate privacy at this time for their benefit.

The ITV soap opera star Matthew, who takes on the character David Metcalfe, made the exact same claim while changing Charley’s name to his own.

Following Matthew’s unfollowing and then following Charley on Instagram, fans began to speculate about the former couple’s social media activity, which prompted the announcement, as reported by The Sun.

According to reports, Watford-born personal trainer Heather is now dating Matthew.

After a brief breakup in 2013, Matthew proposed to Charley on Christmas day of that year. The couple eventually married on February 10, 2018, although their guests were unaware of the wedding.

At Ripley Castle, close to Harrogate, they were joined by one hundred guests who mistakenly believed they were attending Charley’s 30th birthday celebration—instead, they were getting married.

In 2021, Charley made her farewell appearance on Emmerdale when Debbie pulled off a shocking return as part of a plot that revealed her to be Al Chapman’s secret love interest.

Ever since, her admirers have been wishing for her comeback. After 17 years as David in Emmerdale, Matthew made the decision to leave the show, and this week will mark the airing of his last scenes.

The soap opera star has already secured a new role in the most recent musical revival, which is based on the Will Ferrell-starring 2003 picture, as Buddy the Elf.
