Viewers of EastEnders like Tameka Empson for her portrayal of the vivacious Kim Fox, but she’s about to take on a new role as she starts a new project early in 2019.
The actress is scheduled to play Mrs. Aphrodite in the musical version of The Big Life at the Stratford East Theatre in February of next year.
Tameka co-wrote the musical in addition to being the show’s lead.
In The Big Life, four guys from the West Indies travel to the UK with high hopes and dreams, but they end up getting much more than they bargained for when they meet four ladies.
The musical is scheduled to run from February 16 to March 30, 2024, but fans of EastEnders don’t need to worry since Tameka will only be temporarily leaving her role as Kim.
Kim has had a difficult year on Albert Square; she was involved in an automobile accident with the Argee Bhajee subsequent to learning of sister Denise’s (Diane Parish) liaison with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Kim was distracted by texting on Denise’s phone when she swerved to avoid a pedestrian and quickly lost control of the car.
Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) suffered severe injuries in the collision, endangering Kim’s relationship with Howie (Delroy Atkinson).
Thanks to Howie’s support during Kim’s incarceration and subsequent diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, the two have thankfully made up.
For a while, she didn’t feel confident, but Howie persuaded her to resume creating her videos for the internet, and before long, the Kimfluencer that we all know and love was back.
However, she is now much more forthcoming with her fans on mental health, and she has even assisted in mending Denzel’s relationship with Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd).
Fans of Tameka may relax knowing that she won’t be leaving EastEnders for long as she starts her new project!
