The iconic Tamzin Outhwaite of EastEnders was treated to a beautiful surprise by her previous co-stars.

The actress, who portrayed Mel Owen in the BBC One soap opera, posted a charming photo with Gillian Wright (Jean Slater) and Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell).

“Absolutely enjoyed seeing you,” Tazmin wrote as the caption for the photo showing the three of them grinning broadly.

Before, Tazmin posted a selfie with Lucy Benjamin (Lisa Fowler), suggesting that she has been spending time with her close EastEnder co-star.

They had a good number of dramatic stories throughout the years, ranging from Lisa’s 2000 shooting of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to Mel’s shocking death in 2019.

In real life, the women got back together at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, where Tamzin was a cast member of the comedy drama Noises Off.

In the caption of the photo that Tamzin shared on her Instagram Story with Lucy, she said, “Old school buddies coming to attend the performance.”

Tamzin’s first stint on EastEnders was from 1998 until 2002, when she portrayed Mel. The actress returned to the Square in 2018 to play Mel, who had returned 16 years earlier and had a son called Hunter.

But all of it ended tragically when Mel was murdered in a terrible vehicle accident. Although she escaped the first incident, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), distraught, watched as she was subsequently struck by an approaching vehicle.

Tamzin said that she was depressed when Mel passed away, but she subsequently said that she is now “happy” that it was a last event.

She said to Inside Soap, “At first, I was upset that Mel died, but now that the door is closed and it’s done, I’m glad.”

Tamzin accepted that she couldn’t go back, even though she claims to have loved the role she portrayed.

“The unpredictability of not knowing what the next job is is part of the joy of being an actor,” the actress remarked.
