In the final weeks leading up to the much-awaited Christmas murder mystery’s resolution, EastEnders has whittled down the pool of possible victims.
The male resident who will pass away at Christmas has been the subject of intense speculation among viewers of the BBC One soap opera, since a shocking death was hinted at in a historic flashforward storyline back in February.
In honor of the 38th anniversary of the serial drama, a special edition featured the bonding of six renowned Walford matriarchs during a lock-in at The Queen Vic.
The ladies in question, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), spoke about their thoughts and lifted their glasses as the evening drew to an end.
As they sipped their last drink, they raised a toast to all the men who had wronged them throughout the years, hoping that one day they would receive their just desserts.
In a terrifying flashback, we are transported to Christmas Day, when the same women shouted in dismay as they loomed over the lifeless body lying on the bar’s floor. Sharon, dressed in a bridal gown, was examining the unlucky man’s pulse and pronounced him dead.
Ever since, fans have been curious to find out which male character will die during the holidays. With all of the naughty behavior and vicious deeds that the men of Walford have committed this year, there have been a lot of options.
Who are the most recent possible victims of Christmas murder in EastEnders?
With only a few weeks remaining, EastEnders has kindly offered support to its fans by reducing the number of potential scenarios with a fresh set of promotional images for the holiday episode, therefore indicating that the victim will be one of the seven inhabitants.
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) are the actors that play Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
Christmas will bring the death of one of them. But to whom?
That is the query.
In one of the images, the males are seen standing across from the corresponding matriarch to whom their narrative is connected; Sharon is accompanied by two male figures, Phil and Keanu.
In the alternate picture, the evil men are posing in The Vic in the exact location where the body would be discovered. Along with a promotional photo, the figures were engulfed by smoke, exactly like The Six were back in February.
Interestingly, though, Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis), who has been tormenting Stacey for much of the year, isn’t shown in the scene, which seems to rule him out as the victim.
Rather, Jack is shown close to Stacey. A portent of future events? It’s reasonable to assume that this Christmas is not one to be missed, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
The murder case’s resolution from EastEnders airs on BBC One on Christmas Day at 9:45 p.m.
