Actor and director Reece Dinsdale announced on social media that his mother, who was a popular character on Coronation Street and Emmerdale, had gone away on Saturday night, December 9. This is really sad news.
Reece shared a photo of his mother on X, the previous Twitter platform, writing:
My dear mother went away today at nine o’clock. Nothing will ever be the same in life again. I appreciate all of the love that you amazing people have shown me on this site over the last several days. Never lose sight of. Ma, good night. May God bless you right now! xxx’
Reece apologized to his platform followers the day before for not responding to them as frequently as he had been doing, citing his mother’s illness as the reason.
I apologize for not responding to all of you wonderful folks as much as I would have liked to lately. For those of you who have been wondering, the explanation is that my 92-year-old mother is nearing the end of her life. I love you all very much, he wrote.
Friends from the acting community and beyond sent condolences and expressions of sorrow after the star’s tragic news. Activist and TV host Carol Vorderman apologized to Reece. Huge love ❤️ may your lovely mother find peace in her final years. Your mother must have been really proud of you ??.
Reece seems “very much like” his mother, according to EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal. Her co-star Heather Peace commented, “Much love Reece, to you and all of yours.” I sincerely apologize for your loss. xxx’
