Here are some spoilers for Tuesday’s (December 12) episode of EastEnders, which you can watch online at BBC iPlayer right now.
The fake confession made by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) to the Queen Vic punters in the bar was portrayed by Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), and Linda’s life fell apart.
Dean, who sexually assaulted Linda over ten years ago, ended up in the hospital last month after harassing and abusing the landlady. George Knight (Colin Salmon) hit Dean, which caused the perpetrator to go down the stairs.
In contentious scenes, Linda agreed to offer Dean a fake confession in which she claimed to have lied about the rape in exchange for his dropping the accusations against George. This was done because she didn’t want Anna and Gina (Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry) to lose their father to prison.
She had no idea, though, that nasty Dean had filmed her.
After the events, Linda made the decision to go on and not let the deranged guy to stop her from living, but because this is her first Christmas without Mick (Danny Dyer), who disappeared at sea the previous year, feelings have been running high.
Things took a terrifying turn in Tuesday’s episode of the BBC One soap opera after learning that Lee (Danny Hatchard) and Nancy (Maddy Hill) would not be spending Christmas at home. Linda noticed a photo of her son Ollie with Dean in the grotto.
Terrified, she lost no time in heading over to Beale’s Eels to confront the rapist. A fierce altercation followed as Linda refused to back down and Dean tried to scare her by threatening to murder him if he went near her children once again.
Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who had a run-in with Dean earlier this week, explained to Jade, who was perplexed by the incident while it was happening, that her dad is a sexual predator.
Dean was furious and resentful because Jade, who had just recently decided to give him a chance, was shocked and immediately severed her relationship with her father.
He broke up the choir rehearsal and headed straight for the Queen Vic, determined to exact his retribution.
Then he took out his phone and played her fake confession aloud, invading Linda’s personal space once more with the arrogance to move behind her bar.
Linda was utterly demolished, and Dean reveled in her suffering. After learning that Johnny (Charlie Suff) would not be returning home for Christmas, the landlady, who was having a hard time coping, grabbed for the bottle.
