Spoiler alert: Serial murderer Stephen Reid offers desperate Gail Platt assistance on Coronation Street.

In forthcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) turns to Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) of all people for assistance as she becomes determined to reunite her family before Christmas.

Many Weatherfield residents have experienced hardships in the wake of Stephen’s passing.

The focus has been on Audrey, Stephen’s mother (Sue Nicholls), as she attempts to accept the fact that her son drugged Carla Connor (Alison King), killed three people, and took the majority of her funds.

Audrey most recently shed tears when the police gave back some of Stephen’s possessions.

Although David (Jack P Shepherd) encouraged Audrey, he suggested that she could feel better if she got rid of all of Stephen’s belongings. Audrey countered that she would be reminded of her son’s humanity by reading his journal, as he was more than just a cold-blooded killer.

In this latest video, Gail is seen flipping through Stephen’s book to gain an understanding of his mental state and his feelings on his family, so it’s clear that the journal is on the forefront of her mind.

David, Shona (Julia Goulding), Max (Paddy Bever), and Lily (Brooke Malonie) at the Platt home are informed by Gail that they would be heading to the Bistro to be upfront and honest about their thoughts and work out any issues.

Gail is optimistic that her plan will succeed, but Max, David, and Shona aren’t so sure.

Then, Lily, who is sitting and looking through her phone, adds that the family should use a “beautiful box” instead, as that’s what they use at school.

According to Lily, if every family member writes a few kind words about someone else and puts it in the lovely box, no one will feel foolish or ashamed when their opinions are revealed when they are read aloud.

After turning to face Gail as she leaves the room to retrieve a box from the recycle bin, David tries to inform Lily that the concept probably won’t work.

What may go wrong, if anything?

Oh, just to be clear, there is a feud between Gail and Eileen (Sue Cleaver) despite their constant arguing.

Not resentful.
