The Mitchell family gathers during the Christmas season to see another video message from EastEnders’ Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), and this time, she has a big surprise in store for Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).

Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year, and she passed away. The poignant plot centered on how Lola’s sickness affected her close friends and family as well as the Walford neighborhood.

In the aftermath, Jay was heavily emphasized, even going so far as to use narcotics in an attempt to dull his feelings, while characters like Ben (Max Bowden) and Billy (Perry Fenwick) battled their loss.

In the course of the story, Jay began paying Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix), a prostitute, to share a bed with him.

Jay saw a sachet containing ketamine in Nadine’s apartment. Then, in a frantic attempt to find a means to stop feeling so overwhelmed, he asked Nadine if he could have it.

Jay used to spend his days drinking and doing drugs, but it wasn’t until he was sent to the hospital following a vehicle accident that he realized something had to change.

The Mitchell family gets together shortly to view Lola’s upcoming video message.

Over the past six months, we have witnessed several of these. Prior to her passing, Lola made the decision to record the video messages and gave her family certain times to watch them, such as on Christmas and Lexi’s (Isabella Brown) first day of high school.

In this brand-new video, Lola surprises Jay and Honey by revealing they would be running the London Marathon the next year, as she undoubtedly talks about the holiday season!

Jay and Honey will probably feel overwhelmed by the work at hand as Phil goes to the pub, Lola’s remarks about family ringing home.

Can they succeed, though?
