On EastEnders, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was left completely stunned when she received a text message supposedly from her assumed deceased lover Mick (Danny Dyer).
As fans are aware, Mick vanished from sight at sea over the holiday season of the previous year, plunging into the perilous waters in an attempt to save his soulmate Linda and his new bride, Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Since Linda was expecting Mick’s kid, and she and Janine were stuck in a car, Linda gave Mick the order to save her romantic rival first. Despite his desire to save Linda, Mick followed orders and managed to safely get the cunning Janine to land before reentering the dangerous waters to save his beloved L.
He had no idea, though, that Linda had already emerged from the water safely. Mick had then disappeared under the sea, much to Linda’s dismay as she tried to accept that she would no longer have her one true love in her life.
Nevertheless, Linda has overcome all obstacles to create a new life for herself. She co-runs the Vic with her mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and her partner George Knight (Colin Salmon).
But in recent weeks, Linda has been devastated by the reappearance of Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), the man who sexually assaulted her nine years prior. This is especially true considering Mick’s disappearance is over a year away.
Despite a recent alcohol relapse, the landlady is determined not to allow the rapist’s presence in the Square destroy her, and she is excited to celebrate Christmas with her loved ones.
During Thursday’s (December 21) episode of the BBC One soap opera, she checked her phone and saw a message that she couldn’t stop laughing at. It was purported to be from Mick.
“L, I need to see you but I can’t talk,” It was read. I apologize for delaying this till now. I’ll go over everything. Mick X
Linda dared to hope that Mick may still be alive, and she fought back tears. Sadly, it turns out that Dean, who is once again trying to ruin her, is pulling a horrible prank on her.
In the next episode, there’s a confrontation between the two, and actress Kellie Bright tells us it doesn’t go as planned.
Will Linda be the murderer and Dean the victim of a guy who is expected to die during the holiday season?
On Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m., EastEnders airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
