On Christmas Day in EastEnders, a mistake by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) puts Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) in grave peril.
Suki had intended to leave Walford with Eve (Heather Peace) a few weeks prior.
The idea to begin a new life together was abruptly ruined by Nish (Navin Chowdhry), who saw Eve and Suki sharing a kiss.
After a struggle in the woods, Ravi (Aaron Thiara) let Eve leave with the warning to never come back, per Nish’s instructions to kill Eve and dispose of the body.
Eve met up with Suki and they resumed their plot to depart after she put her safety at risk and returned to Albert Square.
Jack, however, informed the authorities that Eve was still alive after becoming involved.
Due to this situation, Ravi is freed from jail on Christmas Day, and he naturally visits Suki.
According to Ravi, he’s been released from prison since the police have learned that Eve wasn’t slain, and Nish will follow suit shortly.
Eve is left lurking in the garage as the Slaters eat a family meal somewhere else.
When Suki gets to the Slaters, she goes to pick up Eve before they leave, but instead, Vinny (Shiv Jalota) calls her in a panic. She is made to go back to Number 41, but when Nish confronts her, she becomes pale.
Suki wants to get up and leave the family Christmas meal, but Nish makes her sit down.
Nish pulls Suki back to the table and locks the door.
When things get out of hand, Ravi intervenes and puts Nish in the kitchen under control so Suki can run.
Jack is confronted by Stacey and Eve just hours before the Christmas Day murder for disclosing everything to the authorities and jeopardizing Suki’s security.
As they attempt to make sense of the day’s events, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stace, and Suki seek comfort in the bar.
Then, when one Walford man meets his end, their lives are irrevocably altered.
Who, though, will it be?
