Even though Father Christmas has brought every gift, tonight (December 25) in EastEnders is anything but joyous and cheerful.

After ten months of attempting to piece together who killed whom, we will finally know in a few hours exactly who the dead are and why.

However, there is still a ton of drama to appreciate before it occurs.

A wedding of some sort has always been a part of our favorite Walford Christmases, and this year is no different with Sharon Watts and Keanu Taylor (Letitia Dean and Danny Walters) finally getting hitched.

Huge secrets are being kept from each other by Sharon and Keanu, and in soap opera land, secrets eventually surface.

Just before the pair can exchange vows, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) bursts into the chapel after Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) pays them a surprise visit. He then reveals that Keanu was responsible for Albie’s kidnapping.

Watchers will recall how devastated Sharon was to learn that her son Albie had been abducted, not realizing that he was safe and that Keanu had fabricated the entire story.

After Phil discovered the truth, Keanu made his mother Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) the victim of his own negligence, forcing her to flee the Square.

However, Sharon recently learned that Albie is actually Phil’s son and not Keanu’s, so that’s not the only secret that has been kept under wraps.

After shocking Keanu and Phil with a revelation at the church, Sharon quickly departs the building with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), and Denise Fox (Diane Parish).

Later, Phil is given some food for thought when he receives an unexpected video message from Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), and he quickly resolves to go to the Queen Vic.

Meanwhile, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) is getting ready to leave Walford with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), but she is abruptly stopped when she encounters the recently freed Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).

He says that Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) won’t be far after him because the police have learned that Eve is still alive.

Suki and Eve realize they must flee quickly after Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Eve chastise Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) for putting Suki in jeopardy.

But Suki is forced to go back to No.41, where nasty Nish is waiting for her, after receiving a frantic call from her son Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota).

Suki tries to get away from the Panesars during their unpleasant Christmas dinner, but Nish pulls her back to the table.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ravi intervenes and restrains Nish, allowing Suki to escape.

While everything is going on, Michelle Collins plays Cindy Beale, the mother of Anna and Gina Knight (Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry), who are spending their first Christmas together in nine years. However, when Cindy and Colin Salmon (Colin Salmon) share a heated moment, things become problematic.

Because things may change so quickly, it is safe to predict that certain Albert Square residents’ lives will never be the same again with The Six scheduled to congregate in The Vic ahead of a horrific murder.
