After learning the truth about baby Albie’s father in EastEnders, Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) is furious and makes sure Zack Hudson (James Farrar) knows exactly where she stands.
Events in Albert Square have undoubtedly taken a drastic turn with the startling events of Christmas Day and Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) revelation that the child Albie, born to his former wife Sharon Watts, is indeed his.
Everything began when Albie received a rare illness diagnosis just before Christmas.
This made Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) realize that Phil was his father and not his most recent boyfriend Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who had been showing off for Albie despite a fictitious kidnapping attempt on the youngster.
Then, in the Queen Vic’s women’s restroom, an inebriated Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Sharon were chatting about Albie’s paternity by virtue of Phil’s wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
After a heated argument between the matriarchs, in which Sharon adamantly said that Phil would undoubtedly give Kat the boot if he had the option to live with her and baby Albie, Kat decided to maintain Sharon’s secret.
However, Sam, Phil’s sister, is furious that Albie, a Mitchell and her nephew, isn’t receiving some parental attention.
She approaches Zack, Sharon’s half-brother, demanding retribution and giving him a stern warning.
Her straightforward demand is that they provide the Mitchells access rights to infant Albie, failing which they threaten to take his family to court to obtain them.
She feels humiliated when Phil, who isn’t too happy to hear of his sister’s demands, gives her a dressing down.
Sam doesn’t stop there, though, in spite of everything Phil does. When Kat finds out that she knew Phil was the father but kept it a secret, she is rendered speechless.
She simply cannot tolerate this betrayal of Phil and the Mitchell clan. To get the whole truth, Sam decides to become a detective.
Will Zack convince Sharon to allow the Mitchells to visit baby Albie and will he take the threats seriously? What information will Sam uncover, and will she inform Phil that Kat has been keeping such a huge secret from him?
Will Sharon maintain her ground, or will baby Alfie be raised at least in part as a Mitchell?
